Planning a bus trip from Dipolog City? One of the first things you’ll probably want to know is simple: magkano ang pamasahe?
Whether you’re heading to Zamboanga for a family visit, going to Pagadian for an appointment, traveling to Ipil, or preparing for the much longer journey to General Santos City, knowing the fare ahead of time makes the whole trip easier to plan.
The latest fare guide from the RTMI Dipolog Branch covers several destinations across Mindanao, with both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned buses listed depending on the route.
Instead of making you squint at a fare poster, I’ve organized the rates below and added a few practical notes to help you plan your actual trip.
RTMI Dipolog Fare Rates 2026
| Route | Bus Type | Fare |
|---|---|---|
| Dipolog to GenSan via Kabacan | Aircon | ₱1,530 |
| Dipolog to GenSan via Shariff Aguak | Aircon | ₱1,335 |
| Dipolog to Zamboanguita via Siocon | Aircon | ₱1,210 |
| Dipolog to Zamboanga | Aircon | ₱865 |
| Dipolog to Zamboanga | Non-Aircon | ₱705 |

| Dipolog to Pagadian | Aircon | ₱370 |
If you already know your destination, I suggest taking a screenshot of this table. It’s one less thing to search for when you’re already packing or rushing to get to the terminal.
Dipolog to General Santos: Prepare for a Long Trip
If you’re traveling all the way from Dipolog to General Santos City, this is one of the more expensive routes on the fare list—and understandably one where you’ll want to prepare properly.
RTMI lists two GenSan options.
Dipolog to GenSan via Kabacan
- Aircon Fare: ₱1,530
This is the highest fare shown in the RTMI Dipolog advisory.
Since this is a long-distance journey, I wouldn’t budget only ₱1,530 and call it a day. Bring extra money for food, water, transportation when you arrive, and other small expenses that tend to pop up during a long trip.
If you’re the type who gets cold easily on air-conditioned buses, bring a jacket too. It may feel unnecessary when you’re standing outside in the Mindanao heat, but after several hours inside an air-conditioned bus, you’ll probably be glad you brought one.
Dipolog to GenSan via Shariff Aguak
- Aircon Fare: ₱1,335
There’s another service to General Santos listed via Shariff Aguak, with a fare of ₱1,335.
That’s ₱195 less than the ₱1,530 Kabacan option.
But don’t choose based on price alone if you’re getting off somewhere along the way. These are specifically identified as different routes in the RTMI advisory.
When you’re at the terminal, tell the staff your actual destination and ask which route you should take. That’s much safer than simply saying, “GenSan,” and assuming both buses will pass the same places.
Dipolog to Zamboanga Bus Fare
Heading to Zamboanga City?
This is one of the routes where the RTMI gives you two bus types to choose from.
- Aircon: ₱865.00
- Non-Aircon: ₱705.00
The difference is ₱160.00.
If you’re traveling on a tight budget, that ₱160 saving can already cover snacks or part of your transportation after arriving in Zamboanga.
For me, though, comfort becomes more important the longer the trip gets. If the aircon departure fits your schedule and you don’t mind spending the additional ₱160, it may be worth considering.
On the other hand, if you’re used to provincial buses and simply want the lower fare, the non-aircon option is listed at ₱705.
Just remember that this fare advisory doesn’t tell us when each type departs. Your preferred bus may not necessarily leave at your preferred time, so check the schedule before your travel date.
Dipolog to Zamboanguita via Siocon
- Dipolog to Zamboanguita via Siocon
Aircon – ₱1,210
Pay attention to the words “via Siocon.”
This matters because route information isn’t just a small detail, especially when traveling around Mindanao. If you’re not going all the way to the final destination, tell the conductor or terminal staff exactly where you need to get off.
For this particular trip, prepare at least ₱1,210 for the fare itself, plus your food and other travel expenses.
Dipolog to Pagadian Bus Fare
If you’re traveling from Dipolog to Pagadian, you’ll notice something interesting in the fare guide.
There are two Pagadian entries:
- Dipolog to Pagadian – Aircon: ₱370.00
- Dipolog to Pagadian via Dumingag – Non-Aircon: ₱455.00
You might immediately ask, “Bakit mas mahal ang non-aircon? ” ”
The answer is that these are not presented as the same route.
The ₱455 fare is specifically for Dipolog to Pagadian via Dumingag, while the ₱370 fare is simply listed as Dipolog to Pagadian.
The source doesn’t give us enough information to explain the exact routing beyond that, so I wouldn’t assume that the price difference is because of the bus type.
If Pagadian is your destination, simply ask which bus is best for where you need to go.
Dipolog to Ipil Bus Fare
- Non-Aircon – ₱400.00
The advisory only shows a non-aircon option for this route.
That doesn’t necessarily mean an air-conditioned option never operates. It only means we shouldn’t claim there’s one when it isn’t included in the fare guide we’re using.
If air-conditioning matters to you, ask at the terminal about the actual bus assigned to the trip you’re planning to take.
And if you’re continuing somewhere else after Ipil, leave some allowance between trips rather than planning a very tight connection.
Dipolog to Gutalac Bus Fare
Traveling to Gutalac?
- Non-Aircon – ₱380.00
For trips like this, one thing I always recommend is bringing smaller bills.
Yes, you can carry ₱1,000 bills, but having ₱20, ₱50, ₱100, and ₱500 notes makes provincial travel much easier. You’ll probably need cash not only for the bus but also for snacks, water, tricycles, or other local transportation.
Dipolog to Tubod Bus Fare
- Non-Aircon – ₱365.00
Again, no departure time or estimated travel duration appears on the provided fare poster.
So if someone is picking you up in Tubod—or if you’re trying to reach an appointment—confirm the departure and expected travel time separately.
Don’t build a tight itinerary around the fare poster alone.
Dipolog to Labason Bus Fare
- Non-Aircon – ₱335
At ₱335, this is one of the lower-priced routes included in the advisory.
If you’re traveling with several bags, try to arrive early enough that you can sort out your luggage without rushing.
There’s nothing worse than hearing that your bus is about to leave while you’re still figuring out where your bag should go.
Dipolog to Ozamiz Bus Fare
- Non-Aircon – ₱305.00
Which RTMI Dipolog Route Has the Lowest Fare?
If you’re just comparing the fares included in this particular advisory, here’s how they look from lowest to highest:
| Route | Fare |
|---|---|
| Dipolog to Ozamiz | ₱305 |
| Dipolog to Labason | ₱335 |
| Dipolog to Tubod | ₱365 |
| Dipolog to Pagadian | ₱370 |
| Dipolog to Gutalac | ₱380 |
| Dipolog to Ipil | ₱400 |
| Dipolog to Pagadian via Dumingag | ₱455 |
| Dipolog to Zamboanga – Non-Aircon | ₱705 |
| Dipolog to Zamboanga – Aircon | ₱865 |
| Dipolog to Zamboanguita via Siocon | ₱1,210 |
| Dipolog to GenSan via Shariff Aguak | ₱1,335 |
| Dipolog to GenSan via Kabacan | ₱1,530 |
This is probably the table I’d personally save on my phone if I were planning several trips from Dipolog.
Aircon or Non-Aircon: Which Should You Choose?
If both are available, there’s no single correct answer.
For shorter trips, I wouldn’t mind taking a non-aircon bus if the departure time were more convenient.
For a longer trip, I’d probably lean toward air conditioning, especially if I’ll be sitting on the bus for many hours.
But there’s another factor people sometimes forget: the schedule matters just as much as the comfort level.
Imagine arriving at the terminal and discovering that the non-aircon bus leaves soon while the aircon service requires a much longer wait. Depending on your plans, you might prefer to leave immediately.
That’s why I wouldn’t decide based purely on the fare table.
Check three things:
Where is the bus going?
Make sure it’s following the route you need.
What time does it leave?
Especially important if you’re traveling for an appointment or connecting trip.
What type of bus is operating?
Aircon and non-aircon fares can be different.
Once you know those three things, choosing becomes much easier.
How Much Cash Should You Bring?
One travel habit I don’t recommend is bringing exactly the amount of the fare.
If your fare is ₱865, don’t leave home with exactly ₱865 in your wallet.
Your bus ticket is only one part of your travel budget.
You may still need money for a tricycle or jeepney to the terminal, breakfast, bottled water, snacks, lunch, restroom fees where applicable, and transportation after arriving at your destination.
For the longer GenSan routes, you’ll naturally want a bigger allowance.
I usually find it helpful to mentally divide travel money into three parts:
Fare money—Don’t touch this until you’ve paid for your trip.
Spending money—for meals, snacks, drinks, and local transportation.
Emergency money—Keep this separate and forget that you have it unless something unexpected happens.
It’s a very simple habit, but it can save you from arriving at your destination with an empty wallet.
What to Bring for a Long Bus Ride from Dipolog
If you’re going somewhere relatively close, you probably don’t need much.
But if you’re heading to Zamboanga or especially General Santos, pack for the ride—not just for your destination.
Keep a small bag with the things you’ll actually need while seated.
Water is an obvious one. A few light snacks can also be useful, especially if you don’t know exactly when the bus will stop.
Bring tissues or wet wipes and hand sanitizer.
A power bank is almost essential nowadays. You don’t want your phone dying halfway through the trip when your family is waiting for updates.
If you’re taking an air-conditioned bus, bring a light jacket. Some buses can get surprisingly cold, especially at night.
And if you need medication, keep it with you rather than putting it inside luggage that’s difficult to access.
The same goes for your wallet, IDs, phone, and other valuables.
Your big bag can go where it needs to go.
Your important things should stay with you.
Arrive at the Terminal with Time to Spare
I’m definitely not a fan of arriving at a bus terminal five minutes before departure.
Even if you already know which bus you’re taking, you still need time to find the correct loading area, ask questions, arrange your luggage, and get settled.
And if it’s your first time taking that particular route, give yourself even more allowance.
For routes with specific variations—like GenSan via Kabacan, GenSan via Shariff Aguak, or Pagadian via Dumingag—double-check before boarding.
A simple “Kuya, dadaan po ba ito sa ___?” Can save you from getting on the wrong bus.

Before You Leave Dipolog
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from traveling around the Philippines, it’s that a smoother trip usually starts before you even leave home.
Know your fare. Know your destination. Bring extra cash. Charge your phone. Save the important information offline. And don’t arrive at the terminal at the last possible minute.
For RTMI passengers leaving Dipolog, the current fare guide gives you a useful idea of what to budget—from ₱305 for Dipolog to Ozamiz up to ₱1,530 for Dipolog to General Santos via Kabacan.
But remember that a fare guide is exactly that—a guide.
Departure schedules, assigned buses, routes, and fares can change, so confirm the latest details before traveling, particularly if you’re catching another ride afterward or need to arrive somewhere at a specific time.
For now, save this page or screenshot the fare table so you’ll have it handy when you need it.
Ingat sa biyahe, and don’t forget the classic Filipino bus-trip essentials: tubig, snacks, power bank, jacket, at konting extra cash.
